Healey Journal

& Preparations:

After last year's problems I decided to do even more preparing for this year's run. I've done the gearbox swap and the post-winter layup maintenance chores to make sure the car was in fine fettle, just as before. AND I am going to give it a pretty thorough set of pre-run runs before the big adventure. Once again the Healey Club's Spring Run looks ideal- a good drive down the motorway, then across country to a nice country Pub somewhere to be determined and a drive back to lovely Glasgow. But before that I plan on making runs over to Dunoon for a short-ish one, then up to Glenfinnan, to see the "Harry Potter" Viaduct and a middling-distance run; and then finally a drive to the Aberlour Distillery for a long-ish run through the Mountains and scenery; and another middling-ish run down to Dumfries to see the "Book Town" there and the "Cream a' Galloway" Ice Creamery- all-in-all, it'll be a nice trip every week before the big public run with the whole gang. And I'll thoroughly enjoy each and every one too- who could ask for more? So, I've got the trips all planned and a few little jobs to do on the car this weekend (13/3/2010) and then the fun and games begin... I hope
